Renae Marshall

Policy, Behavior, and Survey Research Specialist

Renae Marshall is a current PhD student at the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management. Before her academic journey, Renae worked as a zero waste, sustainable materials management practitioner within the Environmental Protection Agency and the Boulder County Resource Conservation Division. Renae is broadly interested in reducing polarization of environmental problems, especially related to energy politics and decarbonization. Her most recent academic publications and work highlight areas of bipartisanship in state-level decarbonization policies. Renae is committed to finding common ground with stakeholders of different backgrounds in the name of solving pressing environmental problems using perspectives and methods from political science and social psychology to study voting behavior, political institutions, and legislative strategy.
